talking about stuff i've seen but they're not reviews because calling them reviews makes me sound like a snob and also i'm generally pretty uncritical

i've always wanted to do one of those twitter media thread
things so i'm gonna do that but instead of a twitter thread it's
a web page hell yeah
(i'm gonna spoil shit in here)

Liar Dancer - Masarada

tbh i'm only giving this one the yellow rating to get some diversity in here lol. it's an alright movie. i do have problems with it though. they kinda want to have their cake and eat it too with its whole don't judge a book by its cover thing. like, oh yeah no it's not nice to make fun of fat people bc they have feelings and whatnot but LOOOOL OH SHIT LOOK SHE JUST BROKE A CHAIR LMAOOOOOOOOOOO OH SHE'S SO FAT like idk. it's a comedy i get it and it is funny but it takes away from the message a bit. also some of the women who were supposed to be like, ugly chicks just weren't ugly to me. so that just kinda felt mean lol. i will say i do kinda like the bit where hal gets unhypnotized and it turns out the hostess he was talking to is a trans woman. i was like ohhh that's nice! but then i remembered this movie came out in 2001 and it was absolutely meant to be a laugh moment but fuck it whatever beggars can't be chosers shallow hal says trans rights

holy shit. it's 3 am and i just played the whole game in one sitting and holy shit. i don't have a lot to say now so i'll write shit in the morning lol it'll be under this bit when i do it. holy shit.
ok. so. i'm excited for the free dlc "jimmy survives the gunshot and falls feet first into the world's slowest meatgrinder which they were also transporting alongside the mouthwash" releasing this holiday season. to be honest i'm not a huge horror game person so this being like, the first actual horror game i've finished was good i think. very few BOO SHIT YOUR PANTS moments but just a constant building of dread. it builds and builds and builds and the game feels like it should've ended by now but it keeps going and going and building and building into an ending that only satisfies the shortest term "thank good the bastard shot his own brains out" feeling. i was talking with my friend about it earlier and it's like, cury got what jimmy deserved. curly's by no means the best person but his only crime is struggling to recognize his best friend as being the monster he was. and for that he gets to sit there, no arms, no legs, just exposed flesh and a single eye, and watch as the monster he considered a friend gets to meet a comfortable end by his own hand. the crew deserved so much better man fuck this game i am going to put a hole in my monitor.

came in with 0 prior knowledge. all i knew was big orange cat. by that metric alone this movie is a perfect 10. the cat is very funny, lots of laughs. i love that grown ass man. all in all i loved the movie but there were def some weird bits. like the first two acts of the movie are just the characters dicking around (which is great) but near the end of act two it's like, suddenly there are stakes. there isn't a lot of build-up and the climax just kind of happens. also karin condemns her mom to super hell but that's neither here nor there. fun movie, should've either committed to being about nothing or had more buildup to getting her mom back from the land of the dead. also monster frog should've been there more i fucking love that guy.

i like it a lot, i was surprised by how short it is, not even reaching an hour long, but that's good i think. they don't stretch anything out or hurry past anything. first half's super cute and i really like seeing their relationship progress. that being said, tatsuki fujimoto is an evil bastard who will not see the light of heaven. kind of fucked up that when they show the alternate universe after fujino blames her befriending kyomoto for her murder it's like, yeah not only would kyomoto have lived if you never reached out to her but you would've personally saved her and become friends and made manga together anyways. like DAMN!!!!!! sorry fujino but the timeline where you give up drawing is the best one. that aside very beautiful movie. i'm glad they've got a being together in every timeline thing going.
